Study of Man & Sin

I.       CLASS DESCRIPTION

 

A.      This class is intended to teach the student the biblical and theological perspective on man and sin.

B.      The class is designed for both the beginner and those knowledgeable of Systematic Theology.

 

II.    CLASS OBJECTIVES

 

A.      Learn about the origin of man (creation vs. evolution), nature of man (body, soul, & spirit), and the fall of man.

B.      Learn about the nature of sin, transmission of sin, categories of sin (inherited, imputed, & personal), and the Christian and sin.

 

III. CLASS REQUIREMENTS

 

A.      Attendance: Each student is allowed 2 absences in order to receive credit for the class. CD’s can be supplied for missed classes.

B.      Textbook: Each student is encouraged to purchase the book entitled, The Moody Handbook of Theology by Paul Enns.

C.      Homework: Each student will be required to read specified sections from the class textbook and any articles handed out in class.

D.      Quizzes and Exam: Each student will be required to take regular quizzes and 2 exams during the course of each semester. The combined weekly quizzes, the Mid Exam, and the Final Exam will each be worth one third of the final grade.

E.       Fee: If taken under the auspices of The Texas Bible Institute, the cost for the class is $25.00/semester (13 wks). Fee is non-refundable after the third week. The class can also be audited free.

F.       Completion: Students who complete the course will receive a certificate from The Bible Institute of Texas
