I.     CLASS DESCRIPTION

 

A.    This class is intended primarily for students who are beginning the study of New Testament Greek.

B.    Or for students who desire a complete acquaintance of New Testament Greek.

 

II.   CLASS OBJECTIVES

 

A.    Learn basic vocabulary of New Testament Greek.

B.    Learn verb conjugations, noun declensions, and parts of speech of New Testament Greek.

C.    Learn basic grammatical diagramming.

D.    Learn and have an elementary understanding of translating New Testament Greek.

 

III. CLASS REQUIREMENTS

 

A.    Attendance: Each student is allowed 2 absences in order to receive credit for the class.

B.    Textbook: Each student will be required to have “New Testament Greek For Beginners” by J. Gresham  Machen.

C.    Memorize: Each student will be required to memorize the endings, paradigms, and declension of New Testament Greek.

D.    Homework: Each student will be required to complete assigned translating exercises and hand them in at the next class. Homework will require from 1-3 hrs weekly.

E.     Quizzes and Exam: Each student will be required to take regular quizzes and 2 exams during the course of each semester. The combined weekly quizzes, the Mid-semester Exam, and the Final Exam will each be worth one third of your final grade.

F.     Fee: If taken under the auspices of The Texas Bible Institute, the cost for the class is $50.00/semester (13‑14 wks). The class consists of 4 semesters. Fee is non-refundable after the third week. The class can also be audited free, except for the Machen book.

G.    Completion: Students who complete the course will receive a certificate from The Bible Institutes of America
